Communication and Teamwork
The MMB program has been instrumental in cultivating critical communication and teamwork skills, which are essential for driving innovation and commercial success in the biotech industry. Collaboration is the basis of scientific discovery, requiring diverse technical and business specialists to work together to transition novel ideas from the laboratory to the market. Furthermore, effective communication is vital for the successful presentation and promotion of these discoveries, enabling students to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts to the public. My proficiency in these areas is demonstrated by the following examples from my individual and group projects.

Fall 2025
bioMérieux Mid-Project update: Competitor and Gap Analysis
Presentation
As part of a literature review assignment, I developed a presentation to convey my research topic to peers. I conducted extensive research focusing on the strengths and weaknesses of blood cultures, while also exploring promising alternative and adjunctive technologies. The presentation was strategically designed to be simple, easily digestible, and highly engaging, ensuring complex technical information was effectively communicated to a non-specialist audience
My team and I were tasked with researching downstream testing methods used after a blood culture yields a positive result. A second objective involved investigating current blood culturing methodologies and identifying the challenges associated with culturing fastidious or difficult-to-grow organisms. A presentation was made to communicate the mid-project updates to our mentor.
Catalyze (2026)
My team and I participated in the Catalyze Pitch Competition. We worked alongside RadPhysics and presented about their product: MERP AI!

About MERP AI
MERP AI from Radphysics was developed to track, identify, and find areas of improvement for medical errors. Check out our goals for this project:
Scope and Goals

Competition
My team and I prepared a 7 min pitch presentation, which included the business model, market potential, future steps, and explanation of the technology.

Outcomes
Through this process, we were able to highlight the selling points of our technology and pitch its importance to the audience within the time frame, and understand the process of development in a startup.
